CONGRESSMAN SAYS NASA WILL GET A BUDGETARY REPRIEVE

The final version of the Congressional bill dictating NASA's funding for FY
2000 will probably contain few cuts to the agency's budget, said Rep. James
Walsh (R-New York), the original author of the cuts in the House.

ASTRONOMERS FIND MOON ORBITING ASTEROID

Thanks to an adaptive optics system on a Hawaiian telescope, astronomers
have taken the first Earth-based images of a moon orbiting an asteroid.  The
discovery is raising eyebrows because the asteroid is extremely light --
only 20 percent denser than water.

ICO LOSES LEADER, BUT MAY HAVE GOOD NEWS IN STORE

Executive Chairman of ICO Global Communication, Olof Lundberg, resigned
Tuesday night. But setting the stage for another major announcement, a
spokesman for the company said on Wednesday that there has been "a lot of
activity" recently between the company and its investors.
