'Matrix reloaded' - Observations from my 2nd viewing

O.K I saw the movie for the 2nd time last night. I was watching and
listening much more carefully this time and I realise that there was
a lot I missed the 1st time.

Neo and time:

There are a huge number of references to time. I really noticed the
number of times the characters used the word 'Time' around Neo. (The
word everyone used around Neo in the first movie was 'Christ' This
time around it seems to be 'Time'). Examples: Neo is regarded as
the saviour of Zion. A character in one scene says: "Zion will be
saved it's just a matter of time". At the end of Neo's talk with the
Oracle, Neo is told; 'We're out of time' - just before he is attacked
by Agent Smith. And in the restaurant Neo is even told; 'You've got
to take time to make time' ;) Then there are all the time limits and
checking of watches.

No nested matrix's:

I'm doing an about-face on the nested Matrix's theory. The evidence
is too thin. The supposed evidence was the fact that Neo was able to
stop the Sentinels in the 'real world'. But I scrutinized that scene
very carefully and it was clear that Neo generated an EMP (Electro-
Magnetic Pulse). So there's no evidence he had the sort of power he
had in the Matrix. Instead I'm going with Brian Atkin's theory: I
think Neo is starting to develop a symbiotic relationship with the
A.I's (He and Smith swapped code). I think he was knocked out
because the EMP affected him as well.

Persephone 'the mother of the Matrix':

I scrutized the scenes where the Architect was talking to Neo. The
Architect told Neo how an intuitive 'Psyche' program (appearing as
female) hit on the solution for controlling humans. Neo blurted
out: 'The Oracle!' - and the audience just assumed that the program
in question was indeed the Oracle. But the manner in which the
Architect reacted was dismissive. He said 'Oh please' and his
expression was as if he was doubting Neo's intelligence. I now
suspect that 'the mother of the Matrix' is in fact Persephone, and
not the Oracle as I had first assumed.

Satanic symbolism:

I think Smith is meant to symbolize the anti-Christ. I noticed
numerous references to Satanic myth and legend which passed me by on
the first screening. The most striking reference was the flock of
ravans which surrounding Smith when he appeared shortly after Neo had
spoken with the Oracle. The twins symbolized ghosts - white all over
and they could rematerialize and rematerialize. Note the goons
watching the vampire movies and how one of them was shot by
Persephone with 'a silver bullet'. The name 'Persephone' in Greek
mythology was the daughter of Zeus and Demeter who was abducted by
Pluto and made the Queen of Hell (Hades).
