piece: Sacred Ground

Far away from the cities in a holy land
I was looking for salvation, all I found was sand
Lost and angry, I didn't understand the logic,
or the order of the master plan
I couldn't find the answers where I thought they'd be
The seeds of self-destruction grew inside of me
Where is that sacred ground, the temple of my soul
Where is that sacred ground where I feel on with all
Take me to that sacred ground, show me what love can be
Take me to that sacred ground, let my heart be free
I prayed at golden altars, I begged for God to stop the pain
I bowed in the dust and starved my lust
I begged for God to let me know life wasn't in vain
I prayed in every language, I learned to know the mysteries
I called on Gods of every name
They one day, I felt a flicker, what would grown into a flame
The wisest of the wise said leave this all behind
Give up the search outside yourself look deep within your mind
In the midst of madness a silence you will find
Like pools of crystal water, with God and love entwined
I knew I'd found the answers They were always there inside of me
The seeds of love began to grow,
and I learned to accept the mystery
Here on this sacred ground, the temple of my soul
Here on this sacred ground, where I feel one with all
Here on my sacred ground I know what love can be
Here on this sacred ground I found my destiny.
