Well...... Interesting thought. I believe that my mind is fully algorithmic (no magic involved) and thus replicable on different substrates. A few posts back, George Dvorsty made an interesting point, observing that in our minds the software and hardware are mixed up or intertwined. I am assumingthat by this he meant that some of the software in implemented in the physical/chemical/electrical characteristics of the brain. This would not change the algorithmic nature but could make uploading even more difficult. Soyes. I agree.
